Ingredients
  

For the Sangria
  • 750 ml red wine Use a fruity red wine for best flavor.
  • 2 cups cherry juice Can use other juices like grape or cranberry.
  • 1 cup spiced rum Omit for a non-alcoholic version.
  • 3 tablespoons cherry preserves For added sweetness.
  • 1/4 cup fresh blueberries Adds extra fruity flavor.
For the Edible Bloody Eyeballs
  • 20 ounce can whole lychee fruit in heavy syrup, drained Creates the eyeball effect.
  • 1 cup blueberries One per lychee for the eyeball.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, cherry juice, and spiced rum.
  2. Add cherry preserves and stir well until mixed.
  3. Toss in fresh blueberries for an extra fruity touch.
Prepare the Edible Bloody Eyeballs
  1. Insert a blueberry into the center of each drained lychee to create an eyeball effect.
  2. Drizzle cherry syrup on the lychees for a 'bloody' appearance, if desired.
Serving
  1. Fill glasses with ice and pour the sangria mixture over the ice.
  2. Garnish each drink with a few edible bloody eyeballs on top.
  3. Serve immediately for a chilling effect!

Notes

If you have leftover sangria, store it in a sealed container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Prepare new eyeballs when serving leftovers. Chill all ingredients beforehand for best taste. Add other fruits like oranges or strawberries for extra flavor.
