  2. Prepare the Pastry Cream: Heat the milk with the vanilla to infuse the flavor. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks with sugar, then add the cornstarch. Gradually pour the hot milk over the egg mixture while whisking. Return the mixture to heat and stir until it thickens. Remove from heat, add the butter, mix well, and let it cool.

  3. Assembly: Cut the cooled puff pastries into regular rectangles. Start layering with one piece of pastry, spread on some pastry cream, add another pastry, repeat with more cream, and finish with the last pastry layer. Lightly press down to level everything.

  4. Decoration: Cover the top layer with white icing made from icing sugar and a little water. For a decorative touch, use chocolate or cocoa to draw lines on the icing and swirl with a knife to create a marbled effect. If desired, stick grilled slivered almonds on the sides for added crunch.
